Some Craft Fair Pics

The amazingly talented Angie giving some instruction, she has agreed to run some classes in the shop which I am megga excited about :)

I thought I'd share with you some pics from our big fundraising craft weekend back in in July, goodness that seems ages ago now! Anyway we where raising funds for the RNLI, Poppy Scotland and local charities. The weather wasn't on our side much but the weekend was a great success, there was a fantastic mix of talented crafters who all got on great & said the atmosphere was fantastic. They all seemed to do well sales wise which is great, always a worry when you attend a fair but I stressed even more that they did well.
I was just going to make it a one off but they have all been in the shop asking for me to do it again next year so I'll have to think about it and see how I feel.

Copics Tutorial

We took delivery of the wonderful Greeting Farm Rubber this week!!!! I've been asked a few times to do a tutorial for colouring with Copics so thought I'd combine the two, but please note I am at no means great with the old colouring LOL

I use only two for my flesh tones E00 & E53, other peeps use more but for quickness or probably laziness on my part I use just two. First of all stamp your image using a non alcohol based ink, the Copics make other inks run.

Colour all your skin parts with a base coat of E00

Decide which direction your sun is coming from so all your shading is more realistic and even, take the E53 and place a small line around any place a natural shade would occur-see close up below.
Some people like this effect and leave it there but I like to blend it in so I go back over again with E00, you can create a water colour effect if you play about but for this tutorial I have blended the colour across- see below

Hair is the more tricky part I think, for this one I have gone for an all over base of Y06
Y16 is used for darker sections, let it dry for a few seconds and then go round the edge of each darker section to add depth, letting it dry means you don't need another shade as Copics are great for layering colour.

Edge the lighter sections with Y16 and then blend in with Y06 and again this gives depth.

I used B05 for her tail & top and like the hair let it dry, then coloured over to add shading detail- see below

I've just added some glitter detail and adhesive pearls and that's her ready to go onto a card :)

Like I say I am not great at it but I hope you may find it helpful, I'll hopefully be able to go further with my Copics when the stock for the shop arrives as they are just the best!!!
I almost forgot to tell you if you are aboout near the store on the 4th & 5th July we are celebrating our 1st birthday by giving our wonderful customers 20% off all our crafting supplies!!!
We'd love to see you there :)

Nothin to show :(

I am afraid that I have nothing to show, my wee puter gave up the ghost and I'm in the missle of setting up the old one, even though it's not what I ordered!!! what am I going to so with a blue computer >:( At the start of the week we took the kids to the cinema to see Night At The Museum 2 but in the way hom we ran into a bit of trouble and crashed thanx to a deer!!!! We are all fine but where a bit some and the next day was worse, the car is very sick but the main thing is that we are fine.
On a brighter note I have the lovely Design Objectives in today and I saw some lurvely stock, most from Doodlebug their new range is the best. I even ordered my Christmas stock today, rather early for me so it will take some getting used to.
Another bit of fabby stock news is that I am soon to have in my possession the very wonderful Copic Ciao range!!!!
I'll keep you posted :)

A Day Off!!!

I have just arrived home after my 1st day off in about 3 weeks, I made a picnic and we headed to where ever the road took us. I am terrible with place names but I know we ended up at Fraserburgh, such a lovely beach and then a few little beautiful coves we found on the way back. We had a great time, weather was lovely even thought the wind was a little chili, we topped the day off with a chippi and a few hours at the park .

I made this yesterday while the ladies in the knitting club where in, it's from the Macdoodle range over at the fabbi Toodles & Binks

I finally got to use my lovely little retro stickers from Monsoon, they are super cute and go great with this stamp :)

Attitude!!!

I have been dying to use little lady for a loooong time, well for as long as I've had them LOL She is just such a wicked little thing, just like my own little girl!!! I ordered myself the a great pack of Basic Grey papers as there is a great mix of pinks with earthy elements which I love and they go really well with a lot of my more goth style stamps. I have used Copic's as always, which may I add I will be selling in the shop real soon :) what a happy bunny I am. I have another couple of cards to show you from my Toodles & Binks rubba but I'll share them with you another time, hope you have a great holiday weekend!! I have a much needed day off from the shop and I am sooooo looking forward to it :) x
