Special Make......

..........For a soon to be special 60yr old :D

My Hubbies Aunt Marion is going to be 60 soon, she defo doesn't look it, so I wanted t create something unique just for her. Aunt M, as she affectionally known in out house, has a special place in our hearts for many reasons but for me she is a lady who has never judged me, took me for who I am and made me feel so welcome, loved and party of her family!

 (same goes for Uncle Clive without a doubt)

I couldn't sleep the other night for trying to come up with an idea, I wanted to incorporate all  the things she loves like adventure, travel, fashion, being Scottish etc 

Finally I decided on the square theme, I had help from Uncle C & Cuz Chris with her fav colour, I dusted off my Quickutz collection and got to work. Although you can see the size in the pics the card has ended up rather large a whopping 10"x10" lol not my usual, its that large it has had to be reinforced oops!!

I have no pics of the inside as her birthday pressie is hiding away in there :D

New Stock Arrivals

Took delivery of some lovely craft stock during the week & I was blown away with the Do Crafts Me To You Christmas Rubber Stamp & Embossing folder set!! I thought it would be tricky to line up the coloured image with the folder but it worked beautifully :D

WOW 1st March!!!!

I played with the girls agin today, not as funky as the other two but i was busy in the shop today and i couldn't get my creative head going LOL Never mind it's still cute

Where the heck is the year going!!! I know I was looking forward to the summer coming round to us quick but this is ridiculous LOL Never mind plenty of card making gettin done in between the knitting. I have finished my socks & I am well chuffed with them they are sooooo cute and comfy, they are that good my Abbie wanted a pair but she wanted thigh Hugh's!!! she will be getting knee highs the little madam, I'll get some pics taken when I can-

Another Gorjuss Girl

I couldn't help but play with the girls again today, I just love how fantastic this ickle cutie looks in greays & black. I can't explain it but I'll try the detail in these stamps are great for colouring with copics especially if your not good with the shading, the detail is there to guide.
No doubt I'll be playing tomorrow too, I am really looking forward to the next set!!!

Sunday Post Early

Well i expect that I'll be spending the day with hubs and the bambino's so I'm posting this tonight, I was soo lucky to be allowed to have a play in my craft room as well today :o) so I've had a fabby crafting time. These are just a couple of cards that I've designed for the shoppe, I had some baby Magnolia's lying around needing a home so thought I' have a play with them and my cuttlebug embossing folders and with the end of term coming up I thought I'd better make a start on teacher cards, Edwin is soooo cute and really makes the card I think. Hopefully I'll get some more time to play this week.

It's been my last week at work which I'm looking forward to but not, the guys there are so supportive of my big step ahead which I'm really greatful for, they are all looking forward to my bug launch which is great. I'm not looking forward to the goodbyes though, I've had a great time with them and will miss the laugh's I have had with Myra but I'm sure we'll keep in touch as she's such a lovely person.

Challenge 6

Well I'm back to the land of the living and somehow managed to get my craft room in some sort of order and a card made for Sugar Nellie

Well the card above is for the challenge but I took a visit to Funky Kits bricks & mortar store today and made the purchase of this fab little monkey below and just had to have a play..

... I will confess he wasn't the only thing I bought, Sk8ter boy, fishing Luca & Hamish couldn't bare to be apart from Monkey so they just had to come along too LOL like I need an excuse!!!

It's Friday

Wooohoooo! It's Friday so to celebrate I made a ard usng my fav things, Embossing folder, Magnolia stamps & lush pink pokadot ribbon :)

I am really not getting a lot of crafting done since starting work, I can just about manage my two design teams and anything else made is a bonus but that's the way it's got to be at the moment. I guess I'm feeling fed up cause I don't see my wage at the end of the month with saving it just in case I find premises for a shop but if i don't need it I'm sure I'll manage to spend it LOL

Had a good day at work with Myra we have been working hard, well Myra has LOL we've got target to get each week, we look to get 90% and above where as the directors are looking for 95%-never gonna happen, anyway Myra and I have been busting a gut and it paid off. We reached 92.2%!!!! this is huge for the team as it's never been done before it was just a shame Mike wasn't in to enjoy the celebration. I do like the job but I'm needing something closer to home, I don't like not being there for the kids, I've been asked to stay on as they are impressed with how well I've fitted in and picked up the job but I've decided to actively look for something local in time for my contract finishing, just means if i don't find anything I can stay on with them :)

In the mean time I'm working with Myra to get her wedding invitations finalised, not being big head but they are real nice, she asked for brown & thistles to be incorporated!!! my head was in a spin with what to come up with, so went out on a limb and with the help of Elmo designed a lovely little thistle and a monogram with Myra & Jim Bobs initials, can't let you see it until its all agreed, the worst big is pricing LOL

1st Sugar Nellie Challange

Sundays

This is what they are all about, Mum & Dad where out shopping and Hubby & Kids where swimming so I had the house all to myself. I cranked the Red Hot Chili Peppers up full, thank fully we have no neighbours LOL, and I went for a shower, I was singing and dancing to my hearts content! now there's a vision. I gathered up my mini T.V, laptop, coffee,prisma pencils & headed to my room :) Oh I had a fab time playing, although I didn't get as much made as I wanted but there is always next week, I'd love to say tomorrow but I never get the time now a days!!! i did however have to tidy up before I could start anything as everything has just been dumped in over the week, so the fist pic is a before shot but really you wouldn't know I had done anything :)

I've been desperate to play with my cowboy stamp since I made the file in Elmo with him in mind, the shape wasn't planned how ever, I made a boob with a sample for a wedding invite & the paper was so lush I came up with this solution, the patterned paper is from a download bought o the net, I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

I new I was going to be having some crafty time so I asked Chris for a file to play with, I saw this new damask inspired file on her blog and thought it would be great for a card, sad I know but I actually couldn't sleep last night until i had though up what to so with it, she is one clever lady I'm sure you'll agree if you pop onto her blog you can buy this any many more fabby file's.

This one was an experiment, I have a craft fair in Easter where I can only sell product relating to Rennie Macintosh & William Morris so I wanted to find something different. I have my chair cards but wanted something that I could sell a little cheaper, I haven't played with my embossing powders for a long time so thought I should. I melted a little powder and then added another layer and melted again, keep going till you have enough & while it's still hot push in your chosen stamp, leave it there for a seconds until you feel it hardening & lift off. I'm really pleased with the effect and fits in well with the Macintosh look.

Little Bit Of Sugar!

DD was out shopping for kitty toys, hubby had DS out swimming so I had a couple of hours to craft just what Sundays should made of :) I had a design team work to do, can say too much at the moment but when i can you'll be the first to know. I was on a role so decided to play with my Nellie's just the one seen as the brood all came home just as I finished her, ain't she a cutie & very simple just how I like them.

Embossing

Got to try out my embossing folders last night & I'm soooo impressed with the results, especially after how easy they where to use, I love the top one as it can bee used to frame any embellishment and good for a quite last min card. I'll be adding more to my collection for sure, these little beauties where purchased from http://www.imag-e-nation/ the cheapest place I found and they have free p&p to boot along with great customer service what more do you need!
