Docrafts & Gorjuss Girls

Just wanted to share my favourite make from my last Docrafts Demo at Howdens Garden Centre Inverness :D The ladies are always so lovely to demo for and seen as it was the last round with the latest Gorjuss Girls I thought I'd do something altered.
I used a little wooden blank with hinges on each side which allows the side panels to fold in, due to my flower positioning it can't but it comes in enough for it to stand in its own.
I applied a coat I've gesso all over then used the new spray micas from Docrafts, stamped the background using Gorjuss Fox Stamps, made the flowers using coffee filters the spray inks again and copics and then added a beautiful Gorjuss Decopague Girl from one of the card kits.
I'm so chuffed how she turned out, she's going pride of place in my shop & there may even be a class in it <3

Dictionary Art

I came across a blog post yesterday for Altered Dictionary OMG it blew me away what an amazing thing to find inside your dictionary :D So I joined the group, was amazed buy the lovely peeps art and set to finding my own book to start in :D

This is my kiddy drawn over beast, thankfully the kids never drew inside and if I'm honest this was most likely the work of my youngest, even at 9 she feels the need to draw over random stuff, its beyond me!!

Head over to the link above if this is your type of thing and see their fantastic works of art!!

Baby Gift

A friend of mine gave birth to her second child back in October & I wanted to do something special for her/him, I have this fab box kit in the shop so figured i'd do them a one off canvas art baby album

Its such a cute folding album with 10 sides in all that fits into the matching box

I brushed the whole things with two colours of acrylic paints, but didn't load the brush so it gave a distressed look.
I then picked some papers that matched and threw in some that didn't ripped then till they had a nice shape and fitted.

The kit comes with tons of fab little chipboard shaped to colour, I picked the ones I liked best and set about painting, stamping & inking then done the same with the pages.

I used a ton of rub-ons in there but you can really see in the pics but that little monkey up top is my fav :D I also used my new Kirsty Wiseman stamps which I adore & can see these featuring a lot in my canvas art.

I also done a bit of doodling on some pages, I am not great and really want to learn more so I'm checking out Pintrest as there is some fantastic tuts on there you should check out!!

So there it is my little Art Canvas inspired baby album :D

Getting Sorted

Had a few orders to get through the past few weeks and I can finally see the might at the end of the tunnel I think! I'll have to get my beading head back on as I am seriously running out of stock the only problem is I have an itch to be creative when i should really just be productive, it never comes along when you want it too LOL

I have really reached the end of these babies too, only two to go :) I do love making them though apart from all the sanding LOL the letter 'N' has been covered in Swarovski's & looking stunning in real life.
Hope you are all getting ready for the big day I can't wait!!! not that we are up to anything flashy or the kids are getting anything huge but I am closing the shop for a couple of weeks and it is just going to be a great family time for us all. Best of all we are heading down to York for a week of exploring down that neck of the woods and a much needed and really looking forward visit to Hubby's Aunt & Uncle in Manchester, only 18 days to go!!!

Altered Letters & Shop Decos

My shop is all Chrimbo woooohoooooo I just love it and love my little black sock purse tree, but I must admit the little pink trees are very cute, I couldn't think what to put on them so they are plain and still look great!

Thought I'd share with the latest must have from the shop, altered letters!!! They can't get enough of them, which is great but they do take a lot of time with all the sanding need doing on them lol but I just love them :)
